- Oceans and Climate at COP 15
Seas the Future was also the title of a special Side Event during the Copenhagen Climate Conference, COP 15 in Copenhagen on 16 December 2009. The event was organised and hosted by the Government of the Faroes in partnership with the Governments of Indonesia and Norway, the FAO and the Nordic Council of Ministers. Its aim was to focus on the vital role of oceans in global climate and sustainable development.

- Changing Seas - Workshop on effects of climate change on marine ecosystems
A workshop was held on 9 and 10 March 2010 with the aim of bringing together scientists, managers and others with an interest in climate change and marine environments. The workshop was arranged by the Nordic Council of Ministers in cooperation with the National Environmental Research Institute at Aarhus University, Denmark.
